Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

to wish you all "Happy new year" properly, im sorry! and thanks for the comments on my past journal i hope you all start this 2010 with the right foot!

May i ask what were your new year's purpouses?
I totally forgot to make wishes while eating my grapes, everyone was so silent and i was thinking about the inmortality of the crab until my father asked me what was i thinking.... i didnt had any grapes left when i realized :3

but here are my wishes and purpouses:

1. i wish to never forget who i am, and where im standing.
2. i will work twice as hard this year to become better
3. i'll do my best to make my art worthy of being published (either by me or someone else) because so far i dont think i should publish anything, i really want it to be special and i want my people feel proud of me.
4. i want a yellow headed parrot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May I ask what the grapes are all about? Assuming you are not from the US (since your last journal said please forgive my English and the fact you have a lot of Spanish comments XD) does that mean it's a Spanish/Hispanic tradition? I had never heard of it before, but it sounds kinda cool from what I can gather of it.

My resolutions were to get better at art, make at least one piece of art per month in 2010, and some other stuff that's mostly internet based.

HOnestly I still don't have resolutions, yeah whole year is good for changes ..
However the msot important things and sentence for new year is "take life for crazy" (it include, be happy, work hard, be crazy, dance, sing, draw everything in more than in last year and more fre interpretation

)
About publish I know how you feel ( yeah my work is bad but I know this feelings ) honestly understand this view.. for do the best before publish and be proud of work..
